Reflections on My Experience at PurdueTHINK Consulting Club

Joining PurdueTHINK Consulting Club has been one of the most enriching experiences of my college journey so far. As a consultant working on the CARES Hub project, I had the opportunity to dive deep into a real-world consulting experience, applying strategic thinking, data analysis, and marketing strategies to a project aimed at enhancing student mental well-being. This experience not only broadened my understanding of consulting but also instilled in me valuable skills that I will carry forward in my career.

From the very beginning, our team was entrusted with the responsibility of developing a sustainable and impactful strategy for the CARES Hub, a mental health initiative tailored for engineering students at Purdue. Our objectives were clear: enhance engagement, establish a robust marketing strategy, and ensure the platform's long-term growth and effectiveness. This project was not just about problem-solving; it was about making a tangible difference in students' lives, which made the experience even more meaningful.

One of the most significant aspects of this project was the marketing strategy we developed. Through a combination of digital outreach via Google Business and Instagram, as well as offline marketing efforts such as pop-up booths, stress-relief events, and giveaways, we aimed to create a strong presence for CARES Hub within the Purdue engineering community. Witnessing our ideas translate into real engagement was incredibly rewarding, reinforcing the power of strategic marketing and branding.

Another critical component of our work was data collection and analysis. Using surveys and feedback mechanisms, we assessed student awareness, interest, and willingness to engage with CARES Hub. These insights were invaluable in shaping our recommendations and ensuring that the proposed strategies aligned with actual student needs. This experience significantly enhanced my analytical thinking and decision-making abilities, helping me understand how data-driven strategies can optimize impact.

Beyond the technical skills, my time with PurdueTHINK taught me the importance of collaboration and effective communication. Working alongside a team of talented consultants required adaptability, active listening, and the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives into cohesive strategies. Each team member brought unique insights to the table, and it was through collective effort that we were able to deliver a comprehensive plan for the CARES Hub’s future.

As I reflect on this journey, I am grateful for the mentorship and hands-on experience that PurdueTHINK provided. It was a space where I could challenge myself, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to a cause that truly matters. This experience has solidified my interest in consulting and business strategy, equipping me with the confidence and expertise to tackle future challenges.

In the end, my biggest takeaway from PurdueTHINK is that consulting is not just about solving problems—it’s about understanding people, driving impact, and creating sustainable change. I look forward to continuing this journey and applying these lessons in all my future endeavors.
